Six teams of four took part in the round robin format, with each player taking on all of the other competitors over the course of the tournament.
The Sutherlands Hotel team from South Australia were the dominant winners after cruising through the weekend as the only side to win all five matches.
Publican Aaron Court, Michael Pix, Josh Ireland and Deni local Ian Dixon took the honours just as they did at the corresponding competition last April.
STR8 Shooters, a team from Sunbury who had been a previous winner, and the Deniliquin team of Kevin Campbell, Neil Goudie, Darren Thommers and Chris Burn each won three matches.
The local side had snared two more frames however, so were declared the runners-up with Kelly and Mick Barron, Doug Sutherland and Barry Gibson from STR8 Shooters claiming the third place prize money.
Bendigo, Maryborough and the Hamilton Club were the other teams to compete, with the Hamilton crew enjoying their first venture to Deniliquin.
There were also some spoils for the top three individual players, and it wasn’t surprising to see the Croweaters dominate this as well.
Court and Pix won 17 of their 20 frames while Ireland was close up with 15 wins, and honourable mentions should go to Bendigo’s Chris O’Loughlin and Deniliquin’s Neil Goudie who both won 13.
The club is hopeful of staging the second instalment for the year around mid-October.
