Marietta Resek (Etta)
Passed away peacefully on Oct 18, 2025 aged 101.
Born in Vienna, Austria in 1924, the beloved daughter of Camillo and Paula Resek (died 1942, victims of the Holocaust).
Dearly loved and devoted sister of Ellen (deceased) and cousin of Fernande Ross.
Cherished friend of Mike, Nick and Tom Adams and their families, and of Barbara Smith, Joan Cunningham, Viv Szekeres and Karen Jennings.
With Ellen, Marietta escaped the European Holocaust to become a highly respected educator of generations of Home Economics teachers in South Australia and abroad, and a generous lifelong community contributor as author, volunteer, public benefactor and musician.
Marietta is remembered with admiration and deep affection, and will be sadly missed by her many friends.
A memorial gathering to celebrate Marietta’s life will be held at a later date.
