Nerea Angela Bini (née Buccino), (Nerea Bini-Maluta) passed away peacefully on the 8th of March, 2026, at the age of 89. Loving wife to Elzio Bini, and later, Jacapo Maluta. Mother to Marilu, Patrizia, Lucia, Luigi and Paolo. Nonna to Lewis, Michael, Nicholas, Jack, Charlotte, Isabella, Sophia and Emilia. Bisnonna to Arlo and Eleanor. Stepmother to Rosalba and Trish. Nonna to Jeremy, Tegan and Maddy.
Nerea was a pillar of the Australian Italian community in Tasmania, serving as Honorary Italian Consul for nearly 30 years. She was awarded the Italian knighthood, Caveliere Ordine al Merito della Repubblica Italiana, in 1989. A woman of honour and achievement. She was courageous in times of adversity and loved to laugh. Our loving matriarch. She is missed by us all. Forever in our hearts.
