The Willandra Merino Stud had its most successful showing ever at the Australian Sheep and Wool Show in Bendigo.

With 25 teams contesting for the Title of National March Shorn Pair of the Year, Willandra’s Poll Pair was placed first, and their horn pair placed third.
Further success followed when it won Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion March Shorn Ewe and Reserve Grand Champion March Shorn Ram.
In the All-Purpose class, Willandra won the Champion Meat Ram and Champion All Purpose Ram.
The greatest success was the sale of the Reserve March Shorn Champion Ram to an Argentinian buyer for $36,000.
The Reserve Champion March Shorn Medium Merino ram then sold for $30,000, and the Grand Champion March Shorn Ewe for $10,000.
It was all particularly pleasing for Angus and Rachelle Heath, having recently taken over the Willandra Stud from grandfather Ross Wells.
Sadly, Angus lost his father in a tragic farming accident in December 2025.
