The program will bring together a range of free and low-cost activities aimed at boosting physical health, mental wellbeing and social connection.
Move, Nourish, Connect is a community-led program designed to make it simpler for people of all ages to build meaningful connections while picking up practical tools to support their physical and mental health.
Rochester Business Network administration assistant Hannah Taylor said the initiative recognised that healthy communities were built through connection, movement and supporting one another.
"The aim is simple: to improve wellbeing, reduce social isolation and make it easier for people to connect with others while learning how to look after their physical and mental health," she said.
The program will feature a calendar of activities, workshops and events, with something for all ages and interests.
Activities being planned include a men's health day, teen wellbeing morning, mums and pram walking group, women's wellbeing and health day, mindfulness and meditation sessions, group fitness classes, nutrition workshops for children, teenagers and adults, and chatty cafe social catch-ups — with more still to come.
Ms Taylor said the line-up was just the start, with more activities and community partnerships set to be revealed over the coming weeks.
Local businesses, community groups, sporting clubs and health providers are all welcome to get on board and play a part in bringing the initiative to life.
Updates, the full program and launch details will be shared through the Rochester Business Network and the Move, Nourish, Connect event page ahead of the September launch.
