Rolling up their sleeves for the 12th year, the Wanalta shearing community once again put their clippers to work to raise money for children with cancer and their families.

Held in support of My Room Children's Cancer Charity, the annual event brought together shearers, wool handlers, farmers, volunteers and members of the public, all united behind a worthy cause.

About 400 people packed the Wanalta property on the outskirts of Rushworth on Friday, July 31. While many gathered to watch the action inside the bustling shearing shed, others enjoyed the food, browsed the raffle, and spent the day taking part in the auction and community festivities.

Shearing for Kids with Cancer event organisers Katrina and Bill Ogden said it was wonderful to see so many people return each year, with perfect weather helping make the day another success.
