Quality varied from some good fed lambs through to a mix of wintery clean-up lots.
There were also quite a few pens of Merino ram lambs.
The core buying group attended in a market where lamb rates matched more recent sales.
Total sales came to $963,233, for an average of $240.56.
The better presented trade to heavy types trended over an estimated 1100c/kg cwt.
Sheep were cheaper with the sale lacking buying depth, particularly on the lead pens of heavier mutton which sold at much lower c/kg rates compared to recent markets.
A few pens of heavy export lambs - a lot in longer skins - sold from $344 a top of $388/head, but tended to be weaker on weight and c/kg.
Dorper lambs sold to $340.
The solid part of the sale was on neat lambs from 24-30kg carcase weight, which sold from $274 to $323/head.
Merino lambs sold to $270. The better light to medium trade types sold from $230 to $252 to be in the 1000c to 1100c/kg plus range, depending on quality and subject to skin values.
One buyer had a store order that was being booked to Tasmania, and this soaked up most of the lighter and younger Merino lambs at $156 to $248/head.
There were several pens of Merino ram lambs, which sold from $212 to a top of $308/head.
There were some extra heavy pens of meat ewes in the sheep section, and there were some cheaper with agents asking more than $300 but only getting to a top of $284/head.
Most of the Merino ewes with some frame and weight sold from $230 to $280/head, and leaner trades from $198 to $220/head.
