The Mounts were expected to defeat the Demons, being the higher seeded outfit and having finished three games clear of them at the end of the regular season.
But White Hills made a solid start, with Pleasant pushed during the first period as it only held a four-goal lead at the first interval, up 15-11.
Such a closely run opening to the match seemed to spur Anthea McCleary’s side into showing a better version of itself over the remaining three quarters, which they did in devastating fashion.
Pleasant outscored White Hills 18-8 in the second period to open up a solid 14-goal buffer at half-time, leading 33-19.
Another 18-goal quarter was produced by the Mounts in the third, though its defence stole the period.
The Demons were held to just five in reply over the 15 minutes as they were effectively taken out of the contest, entering the fourth down 51-24.
Perhaps wanting to send a warning to the invincible minor premier Colbinabbin, Pleasant finished the match with its strongest attacking output, netting 23 times in the fourth to run out as a dominant 74-32 winner.
Although the Mounts also won both regular season match-ups against White Hills, the margins of victory were eight and 14, respectively, making this victory particularly impressive for McCleary’s side.
It will now face Colbo on Saturday, August 22 in another qualifying final, the winner booking its place in the grand final while the loser will be condemned to a preliminary final.
The Grasshoppers were the only side Pleasant lost to in the regular season, by 12 and 10 goals, respectively, the Mounts also still having a score to settle with their local rival from the 2025 grand final.
