From across the region, Corop’s Eden Beaumont, Lockington’s Malik Day-Kennedy, Rochester’s Beau Shotton Worlley, Stanhope’s Lily Horton and Echuca’s Rylie Stewart, Charley Schwencke, Belinda Threlfall and Luca Micalizzi were recognised at the inaugural Campaspe Youth Awards.
The awards program was developed to celebrate young people aged 12 to 25 who are making a positive difference through leadership, community service, sustainability, creativity, inclusion and innovation.
The awards were presented at an event on Friday, August 14, at the Echuca racecourse, where recipients enjoyed the celebrations with dinner, dance and musical performances by the Njernda dance group, Matilda Altoft and newly formed local band Unnamed.
Deputy Mayor Tony Marwood said the awards highlighted the incredible talent, passion and dedication of young people across Campaspe.
“The Campaspe Youth Awards are an opportunity to celebrate young people who are leading by example, giving back to their communities and creating positive change,” Cr Marwood said.
“This year’s recipients have excelled across a diverse range of areas, including leadership, community service, environmental action, arts and culture, entrepreneurship, and diversity and inclusion.
