After picking up its first win last week, Lockington-Bamawm United went close to scoring a second consecutive victory.
Travelling to Huntly, the Cats were in the contest throughout, but eventually Huntly was able to pull away and secure a 10-goal victory, 61-51.
LBU remains in seventh place, with a single win from six outings, while Huntly moves into the top four.
The Cats head into the bye next week, before hosting the unbeaten league-leader Colbinabbin on May 30.
Leitchville-Gunbower vs Colbinabbin
Colbinabbin’s title defence has rolled on unhindered, with the Grasshoppers easily accounting for Leitchville-Gunbower.
Away at Gunbower Recreation Reserve, Colbo surged to the front quickly and never looked back, scoring at will to win 93-31.
The Hoppers stay a perfect 6-0 at the top of the ladder, while Leitchville-Gunbower sits in sixth with one win and a draw.
The Bombers have a more favourable encounter upcoming, taking on bottom-ranked Elmore, which scored its first win of the season this week.
