After losing the toss and being asked to bowl, Jeremy Felmingham (1-21) got BLU off to the perfect start, removing Cooma opener Robert Trewin for a duck before the home side could manage to put a single run on the board.
Ethan Palma-Ludeman looked to steady for Cooma, making a patient 13 off 53 and guiding his side to a total of 56 before he was run out, with new batsman Cooper Fawcett (1) following shortly after to reduce Cooma to 3-60.
Captain Jake Kelly top-scored for the home side with 36, however when he was removed by Liam Hamilton (1-18), it was a quick demise for Cooma.
Import Matthew Darvill (20) and Hugo Bell (18 not out) battled hard. However, BLU’s Declan Pearse (3-12) and Josh Cairns (3-25) ensured the home side was all out for just 139.
Hamilton (8) and captain Regis Chakabva (30) got BLU off to a solid start as they set about chasing down the 140 needed for victory, however they both fell with the team total at 43.
When Declan Pearse was caught off the bowling of Ben Napier (2-31) shortly after to have BLU down 3-58, it looked as though Cooma was still a slim chance, however Werner Brand put paid to any sliver of hope the home side still held.
A swashbuckling 55 from 42 deliveries powered his side to victory, and while he was dismissed by Palma-Ludeman (1-14) with his side nine runs short of victory, Luke Thompson (25 not out) and Cairns (2 not out) safely saw the visitors to victory.
The win is BLU’s fourth from the opening six rounds, enough to see it inside the top four as the halfway point of the season nears.
