Both GOTAFE and Wodonga TAFE are part of the Northern Victorian Institute of TAFE and will run separate events for the expo, drawing on shared expertise across the Goulburn and North-East region.
Attendees can explore study and employment pathways available across the combined network, with the expos running during National Skills Week.
Kialla children’s centre will be among the exhibitors speaking about pathway options for prospective early childhood education and care students, including workplace training, free TAFE programs and higher education partnerships.
Centre co-ordinator Nic Short said the organisation was committed to developing the next generation of educators.
“Our partnership with GOTAFE has been invaluable in helping us welcome trainees into our team, providing them with hands-on experience, mentoring and the opportunity to develop their skills in a supportive environment,” she said.
“Investing in trainees is not only important for their future, but also for the future of early childhood education, ensuring we continue to have passionate and dedicated educators caring for our community’s children.”
Data from the Victorian Skills Authority indicates more than than 1100 new education workers will be needed in the region over the next three years, with more than 200 of those in the early childhood education and care sector.
NVITAFE chief executive Phil Paterson encouraged people at all stages of their education journey to attend.
“Whether you are a parent looking to help your child on their next step, a school-leaver trying to find your fit through TAFE opportunities or a career-changer interested in speaking with industry experts to make the path ahead of you clearer, join us at the expo,” he said.
The expo will be held on Tuesday, August 25 from 3pm to 7pm.
