Also known as the WickED survey, Waste in Campaspe – Know Educate Do, the annual survey gathers community feedback to help council understand local attitudes, identify information gaps and support practical waste education across the shire.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said the feedback helped council continue to shape practical waste education programs and support the delivery of its waste management strategy.
“Waste management is one of the essential services council provides, and the way we manage waste has a direct impact on the long-term health of our environment.’’
The WickED survey asks about the use of council’s eight resource recovery centres, kerb side collection services, illegal dumping and what belongs in each bin.
“Previous waste education survey results have shown encouraging changes in community attitudes and behaviours around waste reduction and environmental health,’’ Cr Mackrell said.
The WickED survey is open to all Campaspe Shire residents, groups, businesses and schools, and can be accessed via the ‘Now Open’ section on council’s website. Participants can also enter the draw to win one of five $100 visa gift cards. The online survey closes 5pm on Monday, September 28.
Hard copies will also be available from August 17 from council service centres and libraries.
