The final stage of work includes the construction of a new footpath network that will improve accessibility and safety throughout the precinct, making it easier for people of all ages and abilities to move between facilities.
Additional amenities are also being installed, including bike racks, seating and shelters that will create welcoming spaces for families, spectators and community members to gather, relax and connect during social, recreational and community events.
Community members are reminded not to enter the fenced construction site. The pump track is not yet safe to use, and accessing it before it is officially opened puts people at serious risk of injury.
The neighbouring skate park and flying fox remains open and fully accessible to the public during this time.
Once complete, the pump track will be a state-of-the-art facility for riders of all ages and skill levels, with beginner, intermediate and advanced areas designed to support rider development and encourage outdoor activity.
The track has been shaped by specialist contractor World Trail and forms a key part of the broader Fawckner Dve Masterplan, aiming to enhance recreation and open space along Benalla's lakeside precinct.
The project is jointly funded, with $1 million provided through the Victorian Government's Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund and Benalla Rural City Council contributing an additional $420,000 — bringing the total project investment to $1.42 million.
Council will announce a confirmed opening date as soon as it is known. For more information, visit benalla.vic.gov.au or call 5760 2600.
