Known for her unapologetic honesty and humour, Ms Rusciano has sold out national tours, written best-selling books, topped the podcast charts and recently addressed the National Press Club of Australia on the subject of ADHD.
Ms Rusciano will take to the stage on Saturday, May 16, in an event designed to bring the women of Kyabram together.
“Em brings ... a really unique blend of humour and honesty, but also a lot of vulnerability around the things she’s done,” EmpowHER committee member Brittany Hodgkinson said.
Ms Hodgkinson said Ms Rusciano’s ability to tackle heavy topics such as mental health, motherhood, identity and self-worth with a comedic spin that doesn’t take away from their importance, makes her the perfect fit for the EmpowHER ladies’ night out event.
“It does align perfectly with pretty much what we’re all about because it just ... creates a space where women feel seen and also supported,” Ms Hodgkinson said.
“EmpowHER is really about trying to bring women together, especially in our local community, and by providing these events, I feel like it does do that.”
Ms Hodgkinson said the event allowed for a nice excuse to get out of the house, noting that it was especially aimed at those who might feel isolated, including new mothers or newcomers to the area.
The evening will kick off at 6pm with supper, though attendees are encouraged to come along earlier and mingle before Em takes to the stage at 7.30pm, followed by a Q&A session.
