Footage shows masked gunman firing on suburban street

In the footage released by Victoria Police on Tuesday, a masked man can be seen exiting a black Land Rover before firing three shots. 

Police believe the man was targeting a house on Elmwood Place, not visible in the footage, which they claim was empty at the time. 

The offender, who is yet to be identified, is described as male, and wearing a black hooded jumper, black face mask, balaclava, black tracksuit pants with a grey waistband and black shoes with white soles. 

He fled the scene in a southerly direction, police said. 

Police from the Fawkner Divisional Response unit are investigating and have released the footage to help solve the incident.
