The awards showcase the value tourism brings to towns across Victoria, celebrating diverse and outstanding regional communities.
This year, Rochester faces competition from Alexandra, Camperdown, Cape Woolamai, Port Fairy, Portarlington, Rutherglen and Warburton.
Echuca, meanwhile, has been named a finalist in the Top Tourism Town over 5000 population category, coming up against Ballarat, Bendigo, Mildura, Ocean Grove and Swan Hill.
Campaspe Shire Mayor Daniel Mackrell said it was a proud moment for the region.
“It reflects the incredible work of our tourism operators, local businesses and volunteers who help make Campaspe such a welcoming and vibrant place to visit,” he said.
He urged everyone to get behind their towns and participate in the public vote, which plays a large role in determining the final results.
“We know how special our region is, and this is a great opportunity to share that knowledge far and wide,” he said.
“Every vote counts, so I encourage everyone to support Echuca and Rochester and help us bring home a top result.”
The Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, August 12 at the Morwell Convention and Reception Centre.
Voting will close on Friday, June 26 at 5pm.
Every voter will be automatically entered into a draw to win an exclusive Melbourne getaway package for two, featuring premium accommodation and experiences.
