Tigers torment Euroa, remain outside hope for finals

Adding to his five the previous week against Shepparton Swans Cricelli is already in the top 50 league goal-kickers after two games.

After Euroa kicked the first of the afternoon Cricelli soon had the Tigers on top with two straight and the home side didn’t look back.

The Tigers had six by quarter-time, leading 37-19, and built on that lead with five goals to two in the second.

Ahead by 40 at the main break, the Tigers continued to pile on the pressure in the second half, claiming all four quarters in the 69-point win.

Rochy improves to 9-8, but still sits outside the finals, in seventh, with one round to go.

There are only a couple of paths to the top six for the Tigers, but both rely on them defeating minor premier Shepparton away at Deakin Reserve in the last round.

Should Rochy manage that, they would also need a favour from either Euroa, which plays Kyabram, or Benalla, which takes on Shepparton Swans.

If either of those sides manage to cause the upset then Rochester would move up into sixth, or fifth if both are successful.

Euroa has surprised at times this season, defeating Mooroopna and Seymour in 2026.

Any other combination of results will have this weekend’s game mark the end of the Tigers’ season.
