After scraping a side together after pondering forfeiting the season, the Bombers haven’t been able to stay competitive this year, and the Tigers took their opportunities to post a clinical 83-29 victory at Rochester Recreation Reserve.
The first eight goals of the contest went Rochy’s way, setting the tone for the afternoon and, while Kyabram tried to hold the line the best it could, the score quickly got out of hand.
A 21-6 quarter-time advantage was converted into a 42-15 half-time lead as the Tigers moved the ball well on attack and played disruptive defence, cutting off the Bombers’ offence early and often.
The second half followed a similar pace, with both sides posting near identical totals, Rochy claiming the four points in style.
As the focal point of the Rochester attack, Tia Webb sunk an impressive 62 goals to lead her side.
A third win for the year won’t be enough to revive the Tigers’ (3-10) finals ambitions, Rochy needing a miraculous turnaround to make up the three-game deficit to the top six in the five remaining rounds.
The league takes a break this weekend as its football sides challenge the Victorian Amateur Football Association in interleague.
The A-grade Tigers then return to action against league heavyweight Echuca at Moama on July 18.
