Rochester finished off the season with a trip to Tatura Park, taking on the finals bound Bulldogs.
While most of the game was quite evenly contested, the Tigers start let them down and Tat was quickly out to a huge lead.
From 3-1, Tatura scored 13 of the next 15 goals to burst ahead 16-3 at quarter-time.
Rochester restored balance to the game in the second period, but couldn’t make inroads into the deficit, another useful Bulldogs run late in the half restoring their advantage to 14 at the main break.
It wasn’t a blowout after half-time either, but Tatura continued to execute slightly better than Rochy, extending the lead to 19 at three-quarter-time.
It was a similar story in the final period, the Bulldogs edging further away to win 50-29 at the final whistle.
While Rochester never got going this year in its push to break a more than two-decade finals drought, there are positives to be taken from 2025.
Injuries certainly played a role, and several of the Tigers’ younger stars got their opportunity to develop in the top grade, particularly at the attacking end.
Rochester posted a record of 5-13.
