The Tigers set up the victory early with a strong first quarter and romped home 57-29 to earn a much-needed four points.
After a scrappy first four minutes that saw only two goals scored, Rochester found its form, scoring 11 to two over the remaining minutes to carry a 12-4 lead into the first break.
The Saints mostly matched the Tigers through the second, but Rochy pushed on later in the term to lead by 13 goals at the main break.
The second half brought more of the same.
Benalla stayed with Rochester for periods, but was never able to cut into the lead, while the Tigers made sporadic bursts to continue to extend their advantage on the way to the comfortable 28-goal victory.
Tia Webb returned to the goal shooter role after missing the game before the general bye and knocked down 37 shots for the Tigers.
Marli Cottam, pulling double duty from B-grade, provided the other 20.
Rochy’s first victory since the opening round gives it some breathing room above the bottom two and, with fifth place currently only on four wins, there is plenty of potential for upward movement should the Tigers string a few wins together.
That road could start against the 4-4 Seymour, Rochester once again away from home as it takes on the Lions in the next round.
