It was the first match day of the Campaspe Playing Area Weekend Pennant 2025-26 season, with Stanhope and Tongala putting wins on the board early in division one.

Tongala got a win in enemy territory, taking down Rich River 1-50 to 15-57.
While the Tim Noar-led Rich River side drew with Jack Hammond’s crew 15-15, skips Bradley Tinning and Matthew Liverton got the job done for Tongala in their respective rinks.

In its new competition, Kyabram couldn’t get off to the dream start it was looking for, falling to Stanhope 2-49 to 14-50.
Skip Greg Shilling’s side was the only Kyabram unit able to get a win in round one, 21-10, while Stanhope’s Ben Fletcher and Gregory Fitzpatrick ran rampant 20-15 and 20-13, respectively.

A travelling Rich River exacted its revenge on Tonny in division two, dominating the host 16-71 to 0-55.
It was a straight sets victory for Rich River, with skips Norm Hodge, Dennis Demeo and Brian Trengrove tallying wins in their rinks.

Kyabram couldn’t find a win in division two either, being put to the sword by Stanhope 0-47 to 16-66.
Stanhope’s Andrew Morris and Robert Armstrong kept Robert Mason and John Hausler at arm’s length, while Kyabram’s Maria Greco gave David Miller some trouble, 14-17.

Kyabram did manage to get a win over Stanhope in division three, recording a 16-83 to 0-35 demolition.
Skips Phillip Denham, Peter O’Brien and Wayne Chambers lit up the green to deliver Kyabram its first win in the Campaspe Playing Area.

Rich River put one over Tongala in the same division, keeping the visitors at bay 14-67 to 2-58.
Peter Kesson managed to tally a win in rink three, but Hugh Davies and Peter Nesbitt overran Tonny to give Rich River the win.

The lone representative for Kyvalley View in the Campaspe Playing Area couldn’t get the job done on Saturday, falling to Echuca 4-62 to 12-65 in division four.
Although Kyvalley View’s Rod Donohue and Peter Lyon both got wins in their respective rinks, Paul Leach’s heavy loss to Graeme Topp gifted Echuca the win.
Matthew Liverton’s team took down Rich River 22-19.

Elaine Hocking was the lone victor for Tongala in division four, with Rich River’s Leon Sharp and George Clarence putting in solid performances to tally a 14-68 to 2-62 scalp.
The travelling Kyabram unit got the job done against Deniliquin RSL in division four, 14-63 to 2-49.

Ted Hazelman and Geoffrey Coad tallied wins to secure the overall victory, while Deni’s Rodney Reid jagged one back against Ray Harrison.
In division five, Kyabram couldn't cut it at home, going down to Stanhope 2-33 to 12-48.
The two rinks were split, with Stanhope’s Norman Cheong beating out Jan McFadyen 14-32 while Jill Barrett stole a tight win over Stanhope’s Mal McLean 19-16.
