The event was sponsored by Joanne Dean for the 20 year, and by Micka Littlejohn from Finley Bakery.
This day originally came about after Joanne lost her mother to breast cancer.
All funds raised contribute to research into this disease.
A large amount of time is spent preparing and organising this charity day each year, and Joanne would like to thank everyone who contributed in any way.
Both a social and a financial success, it is understood that just over $5000 was raised as a result of all the hard work carried out by so many.
Once again, the business houses have been extremely generous, and they are: Finley Pharmacy, Betta Home Living, Daisy Mae’s, Outdoor and More, Ag Trade, Tupple Dairy, John Hogan Hardware, I.G.A., The Three Girls Homewares, Carl’s Catch of the Day, Haynes Butchers, Tocumwal Golf Club, Finley Quality Meats, Country Club, Koality Tom Billings, Sun Valley Australia and Scott Eddy.
Of course, the members of the Finley Lions Club were once again on hand to provide the produce and cook the barbecue lunch.
Finley Regional Care did a magnificent job with the beautiful scones they supplied.
There were golfers from many of the surrounding clubs taking part in the women’s and men’s two-person ambrose event, and all fully appreciated the effort of Peter Wood and his band of helpers to have the course in such wonderful condition.
Trevor McCaw, Grant Wilson and Rodger Sutton handled the bar beautifully and Captain Matt Daniel, Mary Polkinghorn, Kellie White and Tess Dean attended to the golfing program.
There was various novelty events, with Helen McRae and Trish Jackson taking the prize for best dressed in the lady’s section.
Trevor McCaw was judged best dressed in the men’s section.
However, the highlight of the day was with Helen Wastle who had a hole-in-one on the par three 13th.
This Pink Day is always an emotional day, as families and friends remember those who have succumbed to cancer and are no longer with us.
