The senior Tigers come into the year looking to avenge a grand final defeat to Kyabram in 2025, falling short of premiership glory in a 29-point loss.
In a blockbuster GVL opener, Rochester can go some way to exorcising last year’s demons when it faces the Bombers in a rematch of the decider this Friday at Kyabram Recreation Reserve.
Clashes against Mansfield and Echuca, both at home, follow the Kyabram opener.
The local clashes are part of a return to a zone format, with intra-zone rivalry clashes scheduled for rounds 1, 3, 4, 13, 14, and 15.
Zone 1 includes Rochester, Kyabram, Echuca, and Tatura.
On Anzac Day, Rochy faces Tatura, with the footy being a night fixture, while the Tigers have the opportunity to make an early statement in the netball against a finalist from last year.
Rochy’s netballers are looking towards an improved season after finishing ninth last time out.
Other major rounds include Say No To Violence round on May 30, King’s Birthday weekend on June 6, and Indigenous Round on July 4.
A split round will be held across August 1 and 8, with the Tigers to feature on the second weekend.
Rochester’s final regular season fixture will see the side host Shepparton at Deakin Reserve on August 22 ahead of the start of the finals series on the weekend of August 29 and 30.
Grand final day is on September 20, which the footy side will have circled in its pursuit of glory in 2026.
