Both Echuca 1 and Echuca 2 picked up strong wins on home soil at Echuca Tennis Club, leaving Rochester and Lockington-Bamawm United winless heading into round three of the Campaspe Tennis Association division one competition.

Echuca 1 claimed an 8-5 overall victory over Rochester, with the host club coming home strong in the mixed doubles.
Jacob Grieves got the day started in the first men’s singles for Rochester, beating Jake Byrne 7-5 before Echuca 1’s Eli Kingma jagged one back against Brad Major 6-0.

Echuca 1 scored two wins from three in the men's double matches, 8-5 and 8-4, before Rochy’s women’s doubles pairings snagged three out of the four matches in that category.
Entering the mixed doubles, the match hung in the balance, with the edge going Rochester’s way 5-4.

However, Echuca 1 took the game away down the stretch.
Todd Charnas and Charlotta Groenewald got things rolling for the host, defeating Grieves and Kate Lee 8-4 before Nick Bush and Celine Joyce further grew the lead over Rachael Major and Rhys Holmberg 8-1.

Echuca 1 took the remaining mixed doubles games to come away with a comeback win to keep them at the top of the CTA tree.
At the same venue, 2024-25 grand finalist Echuca 2 took down LBU 9-4.

However, LBU got off to a good start, winning the first two men’s singles matches through Harrison Condliffe 6-2 against Shaun Trice and Darryl Squires over Lachlan Milnes 6-2.
From there, it was essentially all Echuca 2.

Trice and Chris Potter took down Condliffe and Grant Humbert 8-4 in the first men’s doubles, with Echuca 2 going on to win the other two matches.
The only other matches LBU managed to win on the day were the second women’s doubles with Michelle Stone and Lois Toohey taking down Jenny Townrow and Tanya Godfrey 9-2 and the mixed doubles where Harrison and Katie Condliffe beat out Phil and Lucy Higgins 8-2.

The victory means Echuca 2 sit narrowly behind its club mates on for and against, while LBU and Rochester will have some catching up to do as the season progresses.
Division two
In division two, Colbinabbin has shot into the top spot in round two after putting the Tiger Bloods to the sword 12-1.
Meanwhile, in the home derby, Echuca 3 got the chocolates against Echuca 5, 9-4.

Both the Tiger Bloods and Echuca 5 are the only two sides not to have wins so far this season, while Echuca 3 and 4 are battling it out in the middle.
Following on from a bye in round two, Echuca 4 will be back on Saturday against fellow club persons Echuca 3.
