The Bombers are facing some challenges, struggling to field a senior team in 2026.
“Over the past week, the club held a crisis meeting with its board, along with further discussions with the GVL, to address its current player situation,” Kyabram club officials wrote said in a statement.
“Despite exploring and implementing a wide range of strategies to recruit and retain players, the club has been unable to secure sufficient numbers to field an A-grade team.”
Club officials acknowledged the difficulty of the situation and the likely disappointment for players and supporters, but noted that all avenues were considered before coming to the decision.
The league has been notified of the situation and Kyabram has also shared a letter with all clubs that outlined its current circumstances.
“Despite the uncertainty surrounding the A-grade side, the club has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting its players and maintaining a strong netball program,” the club said.
“It has also expressed pride in the dedication, resilience and loyalty shown by its players, describing them as the foundation for the club’s future.
“The focus moving forward remains on building a strong and positive culture, ensuring players feel valued and supported, and providing clear development pathways.
“The club is continuing to work towards a sustainable and successful future for its netball program.”
Kyabram will not have clarity about whether it will be pulling the A-grade side from the 2026 competition until later this week, with a meeting to be held tonight, Monday, March 30, between all clubs.
