It has been a newsworthy off-season for Heathcote District Football Netball League.

The league has added an under-15 football grade to its existing offering of senior, reserves and under-18 football, as well as seven grades of netball.
Also announced was that the league medal for the new grade would be known as the Ged McCormick Medal after the life member of the league and Elmore FNC.
While it isn’t confirmed how the initial six-team under-15 grade will slot into the regular schedule, the standing 10 grades of football and netball’s path to the championship has been revealed through the 2026 fixture.
The compact nine team league has again resulted in a clean 18-round season, each team taking on the other eight sides home and away twice and sitting out for two byes during the year.
The action begins on April 11 with three of the four fixtures to be held under lights.

Lockington-Bamawm United will begin its year at home, welcoming North Bendigo, while Elmore hosts A-grade netball premier Colbinabbin and White Hills battles Huntly.
Leitchville-Gunbower will play the first of four home fixtures at Gunbower in the sole daytime contest of the round, taking on reigning senior premier Mount Pleasant.
Heathcote starts the season with the week off.
The anticipated senior grand final rematch between Mount Pleasant and North Bendigo will come in round six, the Mounts hosting the clash on May 16.
The A-grade decider replay will come two weeks earlier when Mount Pleasant hosts Colbinabbin on May 2.
The regular season will end on August 8, with post-season action to begin with qualifying finals on August 15 and elimination finals on August 16.
The first and second finals will follow on August 22 and 23, with preliminary finals set for August 29.
Grand final day will again return to Strauch Reserve at Huntly on September 5.
Elmore, Heathcote, Mount Pleasant and White Hills have also been pegged as finals hosts this year.
