The Cats suffered their first loss of the season to Colbinabbin in round eight, but responded with a 111-point win over Elmore last week.
LBU coach Brodie Collins said his side’s skills were excellent against Elmore, something that let them down against the Hoppers.
“Our skills were down against Colbinabbin. Well our skills were on last week,” Collins said.
“We couldn’t have played any cleaner for that first quarter, which was pleasing.
“It was a good start. We stalled a little in the middle two quarters but picked it back up in the last, which was good.”
Collins said the important thing for his side now was being able to replicate that performance.
“It’s about being able to back it up again,” he said.
“Hopefully we are good enough to do it two weeks on the trot. It’s about finding that consistency in our skills and our ball play.”
LBU was too good for the Demons when the two sides met back in round one, with the Cats winning by 69 points.
But Collins said he was expecting a tougher test against the Demons this time around.
“They will be improved. They have picked up a couple of players or two,” he said.
“Playing them on our home deck probably suits our style of play more than theirs. We just have to beat them at the contest and be sharp with our skills and hopefully we can get over the top of them.”
On the netball court, the Cats will have a chance to claim their third win in four weeks when they take on White Hills.
LBU won back-to-back games for the first time since 2017 with victories in round six and seven, but lost to league-leaders Elmore last weekend.
They will face another tough test this Saturday when they take on the second-placed Demons.
White Hills have lost just one game this season, a seven-goal loss to Elmore in round five. The Demons beat the Cats 61-41 when the two sides met in round one.
Elsewhere in the Heathcote District League, Elmore will take on Mount Pleasant, while Colbinabbin will face off against North Bendigo.
Leitchville-Gunbower will have the week off with the bye.
