The Grasshoppers have senior and reserves football featured in finals along with A-grade, A-reserves, under-13s and under-15s in netball.
The A-grade side was particularly strong during the regular season, with the netballers going undefeated with an average margin of victory of 45 goals.
The senior footballers also made a good account of themselves, finishing in third, one game back from Mt Pleasant with a record of 12-4.
Colbinabbin president Tim Hill highlighted the club’s exceptional season across the majority of football and netball grades, bouncing back from COVID with new coaching personnel and a good social environment.
“This season has gone very well, we finished last year in a good position, the A-grade just missed out on the grand final and the seniors got into the finals,” he said.
“We stepped in with a new coach and bolstered the numbers in the seniors and seconds and that has paid dividends, we’ve got the seconds in finals and the seniors are flying.

“Our A-grade kept their side together and have built a very strong unit, so it’s been a pleasure to watch them play netball this year.
“We’ve worked ourselves into a good position for finals, so the positivity is high in our club.
“We’ve been building since COVID and this year has been no exception, attendance has been going up, more volunteers and everything has been very positive, which is nice to see after a couple of tough years.”
Hill also paid special mention to the younger players at Colbo, with the committee honing in on growing the club and setting it up for success now and down the road.
“Bringing our young players through has been one of the main objectives of our committee for four or five years now, we want to grow the club and give them the opportunity to play as high up as they can,” he said.
“It's very pleasing and rewarding to see our younger sides get into finals and playing well, it’s great signs for the future.”
