In the GVL, Echuca is on the road for a much anticipated rematch of the 2024 senior grand final against Shepparton Bears at Deakin Reserve.
Both sides come in undefeated with the Bears looking to redeem the 96-point defeat it suffered in the grand final from 2pm on Saturday.
In A-grade, the 4-0 Bears have recent form to rely on against the pedigree of the 2-2 Murray Bombers in the 2.15pm fixture.
The Murray League sees Moama travel to Tongala Recreation Reserve with plenty on the line in both codes.
A rematch of the A-grade preliminary final, the Blues and Magpies have each made slow starts to 2025 and will hope to right the ship at the other’s expense, the game scheduled for an earlier 12.30pm start.
Closer to home Echuca United has a tall task against champion Congupna at Echuca South Recreation Reserve.
All footy matches are scheduled for 2pm.
In the HDFNL, LBU is hosting a men’s mental health round featuring guest speaker Tom Boyd.
The round brings an early 1.30pm start for the senior footy against Colbinabbin, while the A-grade gets going from 2.30pm.
The Echuca Moama United Masters football side will play two games under lights from 4pm as part of the special event.
Leitchville-Gunbower is on the road, visiting Mount Pleasant, with both top-grade games set for a 2.30pm start.
In the PDFNL, Picola United is at home to Blighty, while Mathoura travels to champion Waaia.
A-grade netball gets started at 1.30pm, while the first bounce in the senior footy is set for 2.05pm.
A blockbuster girls footy clash is on the way on Sunday as undefeated duo Echuca United and Moama clash at the Eagles’ home ground from 12.30pm.
Echuca has the bye in the women’s competition.
At 1pm, Echuca hockey’s Green and White women’s sides will take part in a local derby at the Echuca College field.
The club’s A- and B-grade men will be in Shepparton for a 2pm Saturday fixture.
In soccer, both senior sides are in the Greater Bendigo area over the weekend, as Saturday sees a 3.30pm kick-off for the women against FC Eaglehawk, at Epsom Huntly Reserve, while the men take on Golden City at Shadforth Park from 3pm on Sunday.
