Canterbury, Brisbane NRLW players face two-game bans

Canterbury back-rower Tamika Jones and Brisbane prop Brianna Clark are facing suspension after the weekend's round of NRLW games.

Jones was charged with a grade-two dangerous contact offence for a hip-drop tackle that left Parramatta's Lindsay Tui with an ankle injury.

The incident happened in the 53rd minute of the Eels' 30-18 win over the Bulldogs at CommBank Stadium on Saturday.

It is Jones's second offence, meaning she faces a two-game ban with an early guilty plea, but that will rise to three games if she fights the charge and is found guilty at the judiciary.

Clark was charged with a grade-two careless high tackle on Sydney Roosters centre Jess Sergis in the 47th minute of the grand final rematch at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.

It capped a disappointing day for the reigning NRLW premiers, who were soundly beaten 34-20.

Because this is Clark's second offence, she will also be facing a two-game ban with an early guilty plea, which will increase to three matches if she unsuccessfully contests the charge at the judiciary.
