Among the vehicles impounded were two motorbikes – one on Good Friday, and one the following day.
Shepparton police proactive policing unit Acting Sergeant Mitchell Bull said police impounded the first of the motorbikes about 7pm on Friday, April 10 after they received multiple complaints from the public.
The Lifan motorbike – which had Kawasaki stickers on it – was being ridden up and down Wyndham St.
The 16-year-old Shepparton boy riding it did not have a licence and was not wearing a helmet, and the motorbike was not registered.
He will be charged on summons with riding an unregistered vehicle, riding unlicensed and failing to wear a helmet, and will have to appear in a Children’s Court at a later date.
The motorbike was impounded for 30 days.
In the second motorbike incident, police stopped a man after he was allegedly riding erratically on Verney Rd in Shepparton North on Saturday morning.
A 25-year-old Shepparton man will be charged on summons with riding while disqualified and riding an unregistered vehicle, to appear in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
His motorbike was impounded for 30 days.
Three drivers were picked up driving without licences from routine police stops.
All three had their vehicles impounded for 30 days.
A 32-year-old man from the Melbourne suburb of Craigieburn was stopped while driving a Jeep on Kialla Lakes Dve at Kialla at 10.30pm on Saturday.
Police said the man’s driver’s licence was suspended and he had multiple priors for driving while suspended.
He will be summonsed to Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date on a charge of driving while suspended.
A 37-year-old Murchison man was also stopped by police while driving a Ford Focus on Hogan St, Tatura across the Easter long weekend.
His licence was suspended and he was also allegedly drug driving.
He will be charged on summons with driving while suspended and drug driving, and will face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
A 22-year-old Shepparton man was stopped by police for a random check on Thursday, April 2, while driving on St George’s Rd, Shepparton.
He was driving on a licence that had been suspended, and he also allegedly produced a positive result to a drug test.
He will be charged on summons with driving while suspended and drug driving, and will face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court.
Meanwhile, a learner driver had her car impounded after being stopped by police allegedly driving without a supervising driver accompanying her in Slee St, Shepparton on Saturday.
The 40-year-old Shepparton woman will be charged on summons with being a learner driver driving without a supervisor.
She will face Shepparton Magistrates’ Court at a later date.
