The trailer was stolen from Jodie and Tim McKenzie’s property in Murton Rd, Tatura, during the day on May 13.
Thankfully it did not have a car on it at the time, but Ms McKenzie said it did have about $3000 worth of tyres and $5000 worth of beadlock rims on a tyre rack on the trailer.
With the cost of the trailer as well, the McKenzies estimate the total theft to be worth about $15,000.
At the time of the theft, the trailer had been parked on land next to their house.
The tyre rack was at the front of the trailer, with a light bar on the front of it and a Kings awning over it.
“It’s frustrating. It took us so long to get all of that,” Ms McKenzie said.
She said the theft meant they now had to rely on other people to tow the speedway car to meets for Mr McKenzie to race.
Ms McKenzie said the theft from their property had surprised them, and she said a vehicle would have been needed to tow the trailer away.
“I thought it would happen in Shepp, but Tatura is out of town, so I didn’t expect it to happen there,” she said.
The McKenzies have offered a reward for anyone who locates the trailer or has any information that leads to its recovery.
