In Perth on Friday, March 6, the local tour operator took home gold in the categories Adventure Tourism and Tourism Retail, Hire and Services at the 2025 Australian Tourism Awards.
Owner and manager Lee Rowland said it was almost beyond comprehension.
“Winning one national award was a dream for us. Winning two was beyond our dreams — not even something we could have imagined was possible,” he said.
“When our name was called out twice, it was overwhelming. We’re a small regional operator from Nagambie standing on a national stage alongside some of Australia’s most iconic tourism experiences.
“To walk away with two golds in the same night is something we’ll remember for the rest of our lives.”
The wins aren’t just significant for a regional Victorian business, they mark the first time any business in the state has one two national gold awards in a single year.
As the highest of commendations in Australia’s tourism sector, this feat achieved by a team of hard-working locals is valuable for the wider region.

“This is a win for the whole Goulburn region, not just for us,” Mr Rowland said.
“Every visitor who comes to Nagambie supports local jobs, local business and the broader regional economy.
“To have a regional operator take home two national gold awards — the first time any Victorian business has ever achieved that — puts a huge spotlight on what our region can offer.
“It shows that world-class tourism experiences aren’t just found in capital cities or iconic destinations; they’re right here in regional Victoria.”
Now, Go Adventure Nagambie is using this huge momentum to focus on continued innovation, sustainable tourism practices and expanding opportunities to bring outdoor adventure experiences to new locations across Victoria.
While it’ll certainly continue the hard work, the team is taking a moment to reflect on its major achievements.
“This recognition means everything to our team,” Mr Rowland said.
“We’re a tight-knit group who genuinely love helping people get outdoors, connect with nature and enjoy time together.
“To have our work judged as the best in Australia — ahead of experiences like jet boating on Sydney Harbour, motorcycling in Cape York and Segway tours around Uluru — is incredibly humbling.
“It validates the care, passion and pride our team puts into every single visitor experience.”
