Through a donation to the Rochester Ambulance Auxiliary, an infant task trainer was purchased.
The new equipment allows paramedics and ambulance community officers to build their skills to treat infants, which differ to adult and children.
Community Bank Elmore, Lockington and Rochester assistant branch manager Clay Anstee said the funding fitted well with the bank’s goals.
“Support like this is what we’re here for,” he said.
“Over 80 per cent of the profits we make go directly back into community initiatives like this.
“If it’s going to support Elmore, Lockington, Rochester and surrounds, we want to hear about it.”
The Rochester AV branch is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Paramedics are on-call, supported by five ambulance community officers.
ACOs work casually on-call and have advanced first-aid training, with monthly sessions to maintain and grow skills such as infant emergency response.
The next round of Community Bank’s twice-yearly Community Sponsorship Program opens on September 1.
