When the concrete work has been completed, areas of lawn will be planted to give the area around the church and its hall a better appearance.
The aim of the churchmen is to have their area brought in to line with the surrounds of the Memorial Hall and the Lions Park, which faces the church.

Imagine 10 to 15 years’ time, when a large number of today’s practising nurses reach retirement age.
These are the women who set out on their career path in an era where choices for girls were largely limited to secretarial duties, teaching and nursing.
In rural health services, the majority of nursing staff will reach retirement in less than 20 years’ time — but who will take their places?
How important are the roles they play and how much beyond their paid working hours does their career demand of them?
Dr Jeanine Blackford, Professor Annette Street, Rochester and Elmore District Health Service chief executive Jill Dunbar and Helen Keleher.
Rochester and Elmore District Health Service is one of four health services, all in towns with populations under 5000 people, chosen for a three-year Commonwealth-funded research partnership with LaTrobe University and the Department of Human Services.
Professor Annette Street of the School of Nursing at La Trobe Bundoora, who will head the research team, said the study was of crucial importance to the Rochester and Elmore communities for the mid-term and long-term future of healthcare in the region.

Rochester police station is about to undergo a major shake-up in rostering, call response times and officer safety.
Under a new Victorian Government mandate, police are no longer able to work alone as part of drastic new antiterrorism measures.
It is understood officers from Rochester have already been deployed to Elmore just to allow the town’s station to open.
The latest regulations, on top of the controversial police roster trial, are expected to have a dramatic impact on regional policing.
Police Association secretary Ron Iddles said the changes would have a huge impact on how regional police stations operated, especially in rostering and service capability.
