Swimmers will have to pay more in the coming summer season if they want to swim in the Rochester Memorial Swimming Pool.

This decision was reached at a poorly attended annual meeting of the pool’s committee of management in the Rochester Shire Hall, on Tuesday evening.
The committee of management had found the rapidly increasing costs of operating the pool had made it necessary for the admission charges to be increased for the forthcoming swimming season.
...The committee was reluctant to make the increases, according to the secretary, Mrs Norma Burgess, who was re-elected at the annual meeting.
Mrs Burgess said the charges to apply for the 1975-76 season at Rochester would be: Single admission for an adult, 40c, and children 20c. A season ticket for a family would be $18; senior swimmers would pay $10 for an individual season ticket, whilst juniors would have to pay $8 for a single season ticket.

Well known authority on liquers, Doreen Schories displayed her talents at the Hotel Rochester on Thursday afternoon at a demonstration of blending with Jan Vok Liquers.
Doreen was in Victoria for only three days, and Frank and Noel Welsh of the Hotel Rochester, were disappointed at the small attendance at the demonstration.
Afternoon tea was served by the Lions Ladies of Rochester.
Mrs Schories had a stroy for every occasion, and introduced many new taste tempting blends to the small crowd in the hotel lounge.

John McMahon, who has been a top cricketer in the Rochester association for the past 10 years, has been selected to play against the visiting West Indies test players in a game at the Queen Elizabeth Oval, Bendigo on Wendesday, November 5.

A glorious strokemaker, McMahon has on a number of occasions, scored over 1000 runs in a season, and his medium pace bowling has regularly captured in the vicinity of 100 wickets in a season.
He is in his second year as captain of the Bamawm Cricket Club, and prior to moving to Bamawm was captain of the Rovers Cricket Club in Rochester.

Rochester Swimming Club members are upset that a promised consultation meeting, prior to the re-letting of the swimming pool management tender, did not eventuate.
At the end of last season, swimming club members from Rochester, Kyabram and Tongala met with Campaspe Shire chief executive manager Bill Carrolan and recreation officer Judi Pay to discuss management of the three swimming pools and contract conditions.
Central Ward councillor Murray McDonald also attended the meeting.
Rochester club member and swimming coach Jeanette Moroney said the main issue at Rochester was to see if the swimming season could be extended by one week either end of the current contracted season.
Swimmers were competing at other club meets after the Rochester pool had closed but had nowhere to train unless they travelled to Echuca, she said.

Dino Yudha Anindita enjoys living in the country better than in a town or city so he was delighted when his host family took him home to their five acre property surrounded by dairy farms just east of Lockington.

The students are attending Rochester Secondary College in between sightseeing tours and visits to district primary schools.
Secondary college language teacher Janet Park organised the visit, with the final planning completed during her recent trip to South Sulawesi.
The Indonesian group is in Rochester for three weeks.

Residents lobbying for light towers to be installed at Moon Oval have accused a Campaspe Shire councillor of biased decision making.
Last week, councillor Greg Toll moved a motion to overrule the decision by a review group to prioritise funding for the ‘Lighting up Rochester for the future’ project at Moon Oval and instead chose to favour a plan for two new tennis hardcourts at Rochester Racecourse Recreation Reserve.
The motion was supported by all councillors except Neil Pankhurst.
The funding is being allocated through the Rochester community recreation grants program.
More than $480,000 was made available following the sale of irrigation water as part of the closure of the Campaspe irrigation system at RRRR.

Nanneella’s Kerry Gibson loves her community — and helping those in need.
So it was no surprise she hosted an afternoon tea this month to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation — inspired by Light the Night events throughout the district.
Almost $500 was raised in a few hours to help fund research and support services the Leukaemia Foundation provides across regional Victoria.
‘‘I wanted to bring the community together but also raise awareness and funds for people living with blood cancer,’’ Mrs Gibson said.
Her husband Pete played the harp for the women who attended the event and enjoyed the snacks and tea that followed.
Money raised at the Nanneella event and Light the Night events throughout the district helps Australians with blood cancer through emotional and practical support and funds urgent research to find cures.
