        The Pastoral Times was runner-up in the category for ‘Best Special Publication/Magazine’ for our 165th anniversary commemorative feature, which looked back on the history of both your local newspaper and the region.

        The gala awards ceremony was part of the CP NSW 125th annual conference, held this year in conjunction with the Victorian Country Press Association conference at the Sebel Yarrawonga.

        Key conference talking points included ongoing lobbying for governments to continue recognising the value of local newspapers to their community, and the urgent action required to enforce copyright laws and stop AI and digital platforms from stealing regional journalism without compensation.

        At the CP NSW annual general meeting on Friday afternoon he ended a long career spanning several decades on the CP NSW state council, most of these years in executive roles. He retains an involvement as a life member.
