Members, both new and returning, came together to reflect on the success of this year’s event, discuss lessons learned and begin planning for the year ahead.
The art exhibition held in the Shire Hall for the first time as part of the festival was among the key highlights identified for future growth.
President John Atley said the AGM provided an important opportunity to debrief and reconnect as a committee.
“The AGM was really about bringing people together again and having a debrief on the previous year,” he said.
“It was our first year as a committee, so there were certainly some learnings, but overall, it was a great success and was really well received by the town and the community.
“They’re happy to keep the ball rolling, and hopefully, we get a bigger and better festival.”
The committee will continue to meet regularly over the coming months as planning for the next festival takes shape.
Mr Atley is encouraging community members to get involved, whether as volunteers, committee members or sponsors.
“We’re looking for more people who want to be involved,” he said.
“It does cost a lot to run, but the benefits for the community are significant, and we’d love to see that support continue.”
The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 23 at the Rochester Racecourse Recreation Reserve tennis club from 6pm.
