        The leadership change was confirmed at MRT’s annual general meeting, marking a milestone for the cross-border organisation as it enters a phase of growth.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Ms Greiner is recognised for growing MRT into one of the country’s most respected tourism organisations, operating across 13 local government areas.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Her legacy includes driving visitation and strengthening regional cross-border collaboration between Victoria and NSW.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        “Serving as chair of Murray Regional Tourism has been a real privilege,” Ms Greiner said.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        “The passion and resilience of our operators and communities have been truly inspiring.         Having grown up along the Murray River, Mr Geyer brings both a personal connection to the area and extensive professional expertise in regional governance.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        He has served as chair for multiple regional organisations, and has a 20-year professional background spanning development, winemaking, and fishing.

        “The Murray is one of Australia’s most distinctive and diverse regions, and tourism is central to both its identity and prosperity.”
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        In his first year, Mr Geyer will focus on strengthening cross-border collaboration, deepening partnerships with Visit Victoria and Destination NSW.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        With both states launching new visitor economy strategies, Mr Geyer said the timing is ideal.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        A refresh of the Murray Regional Tourism Destination Management Plan will also be progressed.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        “I look forward to working with the Board, industry partners and all levels of government to strengthen the visitor economy and ensure the Murray continues to thrive,” Mr Geyer said.
