Ms Tyrrell raised the issue in Victorian parliament with Roads and Road Safety Minister Melissa Horne during an adjournment debate.
She had recently experienced the poor condition of the highway first-hand while travelling to Elmore Field Days.
“As I drove the Midland Hwy from Shepparton to Elmore, I witnessed truck after truck swerve to miss the deep rutting and potholes and cars thrown off course by the crumbling road surface,” Ms Tyrrell said.
“The condition of this road is putting the lives of my constituents in danger every day.”

Ms Tyrrell labelled the highway’s condition as unacceptable, particularly sections near Corop and Ardmona, and called on Ms Horne to order urgent repairs.
“The Midland Hwy is a major road carrying a large amount of traffic each day and its current condition can be best described as unacceptable at best and dangerous at worst,” she said.
“Urgent repairs are required now, and that is why I have called on the minister to take action immediately.”
