A large crowd attended last week’s Australia Day celebrations enjoying a tasty breakfast of bacon, eggs and sausages.
A special welcome was extended to guests, NSW Member for Murray Helen Dalton and former North Melbourne footballer Brent Harvey.
The only thing missing was the ‘voice in volume’, Echuca-Murray Town crier Judy Campbell, who was prevented by ill health from joining in.
The presentation of two Australia Day Awards to locals topped off the celebrations.
They were Junior Sportsperson Matilda Eddy who represented us well in a range of sports in local, district, regional and state levels.
Also recognized were Aleisha Mcintosh, Tegan and Morgan Hadjialexiou who organised Mathoura’s Biggest Morning Tea and raised an amazing $6,000 for cancer research.
They were recognised at the Community Group of the Year.
Congratulations to you all.

But this time he is officially joining them.
