“We are recognising a cohort who traditionally shy away from the spotlight, but make an enormous contribution to their families and their communities,” she said.
“This event is an opportunity for each of us to take time out from our everyday obligations and enjoy the company of those who understand the highs and the lows of the life that we have chosen.”

Ms Green said it was an honour to attend the event and be surrounded by rural women.
“I love gathering women in the room around the table, in the circle, in my kitchen, wherever we are because we all have a story,” she said.
“You are the backbone, you are the heartbeat, you are resilient, you are wise, and it’s an honour to celebrate you today.”
Representatives from Campaspe Shire Council and Community Bank Elmore, Lockington and Rochester were among the day’s guests.

The lunch wrapped up in style as Parsons Rochester held a fashion parade featuring the store’s latest spring looks.
Around $6000 was raised through the event, with proceeds going towards the WomenCan charity to support much needed research into gynaecological cancers.
The day would not have been possible without the support of the Community Bank Elmore, Lockington and Rochester, which was the event’s major sponsor.
Mon Brereton, Katie Condliffe, Patti Ferguson, Angela Bacon, Maria Collins, Sandra Bacon and Narelle Bacon enjoyed the chance to network and catch up with one another.
