“Our Club Teen school holiday program caters to young people living with a disability aged between six and 17,” CLRS programs team leader Melanie Pyle said.
“It is designed to support young people to develop life skills, learn self-regulation strategies, develop friendships and support social interaction while enjoying activities in a safe, supportive environment.”
The program operates from 9am to 5pm daily, with core activities scheduled between 9.30am and 3.30pm.
Activities, supported by experienced CLRS staff, include visits to Bendigo Pottery, Shepparton Mouse Hunt, a movie at Echuca Paramount, a day being a MasterChef, ten pin bowling, a day relaxing with a barbecue and a spot of fishing, Kyabram Fauna Park, and KidsTown Shepparton, along with NAIDOC Week activities at Yarkuwa Indigenous Knowledge Centre.
“An activity that looks like extra fun is Bendigo Pottery, which is a new activity we have introduced for these school holidays,” Ms Pyle said.
“At Bendigo Pottery, the young people will be decorating a plate, mug or bowl and painting it with their own design.”
To attend, participants must be between six and 17 years of age, have an NDIS plan, and be a client of CLRS.
