The workshop will be held at Corowa TAFE from 10:00am to 11:00am and is designed to build local capacity and boost funding success across the region.
The one-hour session will break down the grant application process, offering practical advice and governance tips that apply equally to commercial and non-profit projects.
Participants will hear directly from local success stories, including representatives from the Corowa She Shed and the Corowa Community Garden, who will share insights on aligning projects with clear strategic visions and utilising Council’s Grant Guru platform to find funding opportunities and economic modelling using .id software via Federation Council’s website.
Mayor Cheryl Cook highlighted the importance of supporting local groups to access external funding.
“Our region thrives on the passion of our community organisations and local businesses,” Cr Cook said.
“Securing grant funding can turn a great vision into a reality but knowing where to start can be daunting.
“This workshop provides the practical tools, governance foundations and search strategies needed to write competitive applications.”
The session will be hosted by Council’s grants officer, Alex Campbell and will cover governance preparation, grant searching via Grant Guru and tips on articulating strong project visions.
Attendance is strictly capped at 30 participants due to venue capacity at Corowa TAFE.
If demand exceeds 30 RSVPs, a second session may be scheduled at a later date.
