The event is the brainchild of the The Goulburn Valley Wedding Collective, a group of like-minded wedding vendors passionate about helping couples create their perfect day close to home.
Collective photographer Rebecca Dalton said the idea was sparked after noticing a shift from large traditional weddings to smaller, more intimate celebrations.
“Life is busy for so many people, and I wanted to create something that made the wedding planning process easier, more personal and far less stressful for couples,” Rebecca said.
“I realised couples often didn’t know where to start or who to trust when planning their day, so I wanted to bring trusted professionals together in one place and create a supportive, easy-to-navigate experience.”
What began as a small collective has since grown into a thriving network of local wedding businesses spanning venues, catering, styling, music, accommodation, transport and more.
Now, with the expo locked in for Sunday, May 31, from 10am to 3pm at the McIntosh Centre, the stage is set for a major celebration of the region’s wedding industry.
“We wanted to give people the opportunity to meet vendors face-to-face, see what’s available locally, and experience the creativity and professionalism our region has to offer — all in one space,” Rebecca said.
“Bringing it all together has honestly been huge, but incredibly exciting.
“There are so many moving parts — co-ordinating vendors, styling, fashion, entertainment, marketing, sponsorships and the overall experience — but the support from local businesses has been amazing.
“It’s become much bigger than just an expo; it’s really turning into a celebration of the local wedding industry and the talent we have here in the Goulburn Valley.”
Couples are expected to leave feeling inspired, excited and confident about planning their wedding, while discovering they do not need to travel far to create an unforgettable celebration.
The expo will feature a packed line-up of wedding vendors from across the region, alongside live entertainment, fashion parades, interactive displays, styling inspiration, giveaways, a free wedding magazine called Love Ever After and a range of activities throughout the day.
“I want couples to leave having made genuine connections with vendors they trust and feeling excited about what’s possible for their day,” Rebecca said.
“The Goulburn Valley is filled with incredibly talented wedding professionals, and this expo is all about showcasing what our region has to offer.
“The Goulburn Valley Wedding Collective is built around supporting one another’s businesses, lifting each other up and creating something truly incredible for this area and for local couples.”
Future brides and grooms are encouraged to bring along their partner, mum, mother-in-law or bridal party and prepare for a day full of wedding inspiration.
