The BBQ will be held on Friday, 30 October 2026, from 11am to 1.30pm at the Community Centre, providing an opportunity for people to enjoy a free sausage, have a friendly chat and learn more about mental health and wellbeing support available locally.
Sponsored by Mental Health & Wellbeing Local, the event will give community members the chance to meet the Mental Health and Wellbeing Local team in a relaxed, low-pressure environment.
Locals can find out about free mental health and wellbeing support available across Yarrawonga, Mulwala and surrounding communities, while also becoming familiar with the people behind the service.
In regional communities, people may not know what mental health support is available nearby until they, or someone they care about, are already struggling. Meeting service providers in an informal setting can make it easier to know where to turn when support is needed.
For YMCLC, the BBQ reflects its broader commitment to community wellbeing.
The centre helps local people learn new skills, build connections and access support, with wellbeing at the heart of its courses, programs and everyday conversations.
By bringing a free mental health service into a familiar and welcoming community space, YMCLC hopes to make that first conversation about seeking support feel a little easier.
Everyone is welcome to drop in, grab a sausage, meet the team and find out what support is available locally.
