The Environment Protection Authority, Victoria is investigating allegations of illegal dumping in Echuca.
The dumping of road materials is believed to be happening on private land located along the Old Aerodrome Rd.
The EPA visited the site on Thursday, December 11 as part of the investigation.
A local resident approached Campaspe Shire Council about the matter two months prior to the EPA visiting the site.
Council director of sustainability Michael Sharp said the resident was promptly referred to the EPA.
“Council, once being made aware of the allegations in October, referred them on the same day to the Environmental Protection Authority, who are the agency responsible for investigating matters such as these,” he said.
The investigation is ongoing; however, community members who may have useful information about potential incidents are encouraged to reach out to the EPA.
