The competition pavilions were full of home-baked goods, vibrant flowers, stunning photography, art, quilts, produce and pristine white fleeces.
While the fairground rides, fairy-floss vendors, petting zoo, Dinkum Dinosaurs and their Dino-Larious Show and fossil museum offered something for everyone.
On the oval the equestrian events were drawing a crowd, while the 8th Indi Light Horse Brigade hosted its display.
There was also face-painting for youngsters, showbags as far as the eye could see and the ever popular championship dog show.
The event was officially opened by Rural City of Benalla Deputy Mayor Justin King and Benalla Agricultural and Pastoral Society president Chris Ogden.
Ms Ogden said preparations for the 2026 show began as soon as the 2025 show wrapped-up.
“It’s gone smoothly so far,” she said.
“We’re really pleased with the crowds already, even though it’s only Friday.”
She said the young attendees were already enjoying the Dinkum Dinosaurs show and the petting zoo.
“We've got some great entries in the horticulture and craft pavilions,” she said.
“And we’re going to be offering Devonshire Teas in the Chiswell Pavilion on Saturday.
“We like to have something for everyone. We’re trying to make it a bit like a country fair.”
Cr King said the show brought back many fond memories for him, as he had been attending his whole life.
“So to see it continuing to go year after year, from strength to strength, is great to see,” he said.
“It's just a great community get-together. And people from right across the electorate and neighbouring towns will come to Benalla for it.
“We really hope people get out and enjoy it. It’s just another way of bringing our community together, and that’s what it’s all about, and having fun.”
