As the sun sets on the tennis season and Easter approaches, Kyabram Lawn Tennis Association will put on its annual Easter tournament, the club’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
The KLTC Easter tournament has been known for years for its combination of friendly atmosphere and stiff competition, ensuring the weekend has something for everyone.
People travel from across the state to play on some of the premier lawn courts in the region.
The tournament brings more than 250 people to the town who support the community and accommodation options.
With players competing across three days in multiple events such as doubles, singles, mixed doubles and veterans doubles, the tournament has a special and steeped history, with the internal competition running annually for almost a century and is the major fundraiser for the club.
It is the final event for the club each season and provides a nice platform for club members and families to come together after a busy summer.
The 2025 edition of the event saw the return of veterans doubles events for those aged over 30, the first time these events have been held since before the COVID-19 pandemic hit.
The weekend was the first time Kyabram Lawn Tennis Club offered prize money on all days, with every open event winner and runner-up being sponsored by Hurley’s Bar and Bistro.
Major sponsor Kyabram Club gave $1500 to assist in the set up and running of the tournament.
